I had my son with me, and we saw my oldest daughter walking down the street. This was the first time I have seen her in months. Oh how it hurt. I wanted to go to her, pull her into the car and be her mother again. Like when she was a little girl.
But then I remembered the many barbs sticking out from her, and could not allow myself to be impaled again.
I love her so much, but cannot let her into my life.

That must have been very difficult for you. But I truly believe with all my heart that we have to protect ourselves first. And you showed your son about boundaries.

Keep praying for your daughter, I will say a prayer for her too.

oh sky: you must be in so much pain, but i think you did the best thing for all concerned. i'm not familiar with the situation between yourself and your daughter, but i guess from what you say, it hasn't been easy. the only advice i can give is that you need to protect yourself first, and eventually everything will fall into place
