Just frustrating...

Sometimes it seems like I will never really get my head above water. No matter how hard I work, something always gets in the way of making ends meet.I was on my way to meet friends to go to volunteer at a benefit dinner/concert for kids in need.I pulled in to get gas,and everything was fine. When I pulled out,my car sounded like a tank.Something to do with the exhaust,it looks like.I was lucky not to get pulled over

My friends were good enough to let me drive one of their cars since the benefit was out of town.So I went and spent most of my time on the church playground supervising the kids.I was glad to have something useful to do,and it kind of took my mind off things for a while.I left early to get my car home before it got too late. One of my friends followed me to make sure I got home ok.It's good to have such wonderful friends but I hate having people go to any trouble on my account.Kind of strange I guess, since I like helping others...just hate needing help.

Anyway..just hoping it won't cost a fortune to fix it.

Phoneix, I can relate to the scenario of always something coming up. Right now for me it's my teeth. I used up all my dental coverage for this year, and my dentist is telling me I need like five crowns. That will cost a few thousand dollars.

I hope your car doesn't cost a fortune to fix. When my brother was here I didn't have to worry about car stuff, since he is a skilled mechanic. My husband's pretty good too.

Do you have a good mechanic. I'm assuming that you know enough about cars and mechanics so that you don't get screwed. Mechanics can take advantage of people when you don't know much. Good luck,

Juls

Phoenix, sounds similar to what happened to me. Could it be a loose lead or faulty sparkplug? It was for me and basically cost me nothing to fix. One of the cylinders wasn't working and the engine sounded really noisy and strange, like a VW engine, and it lost a lot of power.

Anyway, I hope its nothing major and that you get this sorted out.

Bless your heart girl! I, too know the "it's raining, now it's flooding scenario. some times I say God, wouldn't just a sprinkle do??? It is so tough, I will pray that it is nothing serious and will be simple to fix.

I can sure relate about the dental troubles.I don't know why these things have to be so expensive.I hope you can get good care and not get taken to the cleaners.

As for my car,I know a little about them. But good mechanics are scarce, and honest mechanics are even more rare.Still,I am feeling a bit guilty for even complaining. The car was given to me a year ago,and this is the first real trouble I've had with it.I should be counting my blessings

Hugs

Don't feel quitly about complaining....car trouble is a bummer, it does not matter if the car was free or not, car trouble sucks.

And you are right, home mechanics do seem so hard to find now a days.

Sending good thoughts your way!!!! and cheesecake, lots of cheesecake!!!!

I have a 91 Mercedes 300E, and it can be costly to work on. We just found a good shop though, close to our new house. They specialize in German autos. I had to get some new pads, and new rotors on the front. My husband had purchased the rotors new, off e-bay for a good price.

They charged us 130.00 to replace the pads and install the new rotors. Also an oil change for 19.95, which is very good price for Mercedes.

Is yours fixed yet?
