| What a Blast
The YMCA had a Halloween party for the kids, with all sorts of activities.I volunteered to help out.I got picked to stay up front greeting people as they came in and helping the kids decorate treat bags.Normally I am far too shy to be happy in an up front role like that, but I just focused on the kids and had a great time. I took my boy and his best friend with me.After they went through and did all the fun stuff, they helped out in the haunted house, and had even more fun.And I was so proud, they even helped with clean up without even being asked. Now if I could just get mine to do that at home ![]() phoenix |

That sounds like so much fun! They don't do things like that around here for the kids. Haven't even heard of a haunted house being set up anywhere. I live in a very small town. I'm so glad that you had such a great time!! Take care~ Holly

I know I got a lot more out of it than I gave. For the time I was there, not a single dark or troublesome thought crossed my mind.I was entirely alive and present in the moment, watching the kids have fun.The ones I work with were all so thrilled to see me,and my witch hat didn't scare them a bit ![]() I have the witch hat with the long black hair attached, and it blends with my dark hair, though mine is a shade lighter and a lot longer.I also wore a white turtleneck with little black dancing skeletons all over, and my black t shirt with the jack o' lantern that says "Got Treats?".So I am a friendly witch phoenix |

Huray!!!!!!!!!! I know it feels good to be asked to help out! I helped out last night at the dance. I'm not shy,but have a hard time being around "normal people". I know how you feel about being alive and living in the moment! Kids are great for keeping us there! It's just so wonderful to be a part of instead of being on the outside looking in or in my case sometimes I don't feel worthy enough! I have a shirt that is bright orange and has a broom stick on it that says "Feeling witchy" in black letters. Ha, ha got to cross out that W and put in a B around PMS time LOL!!! Huray for normal and living in the moment!!!

Phoenix, I know what you mean about being too shy for things. I enjoy doing things like that with my daughter too, because it helps me to be more social. I love Halloween. My daughter is going to be a witch. Usually she's been a princess, snowwhite, or something more "girly." I will be a witch also. The neighborhood where I live is almost like a small quaint town unto itself. On Halloween all the kids from her school, go up and down the main street which is about five or six blocks trick or treating at the merchants. The businesses gear that day just for the kids. It's so nice. Juls

Aw, Phoenix - that is so cool! I'm really glad you had such a good time. It's great when we can just let loose and get into the spirit of things.
