| I Got Off Probation Today!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so lucky.. my higher power is sure looking out for me.. I have had some major problems with my probation officer, he was truly out to find any kind of technical thing that I may (or may not) do wrong... well I served 1/2 my probation and went to court today and the judge dismissed it... I am so happy... It's weird you think well, I'll just use when my probation is up, but when it finally comes that time... you have gained so many things that just aren't worth losing... and for the most part have no desire in using... i really truly want to keep doing the right thing... I am so happy

Good for you - keep up the good work. A true gift of sobriety.

Jodi You are a true inspiration for me. You give me hope for my A daughter. I am so very happy for you. And you are so very right. Once we start trying to do only the things that help us feel good about ourselves, our self esteem raises, and what we gain in this process cannot be bought from us with a million bucks. We begin to know who we are and what we want, our recovery blossoms into a budding rose bush. I have this image of a rotting, barren, lonesome stump in the swamp as ones who have not yet found recovery. the roots are drowing daily. It is so very wonderful when we have the opportunity to hear the heart of one who is in recovery. Thank you.

thank you for you post... All I know is I was the most lonely, self-centered, out for myself, non-caring person in the world when I was on drugs... Now I can feel again, and I try to see things from a whole different perspective... I have gained knowledge, my family, a job, schooling, my higher power, and self-esteem... Those things are SOOO important to me now.. and I can't even imagine living without that now... I think what did it for me was not having recovery shoved down my throat... and being sick and tired of being sick and tired... I've been to nine rehabs, endless halfway houses, jail nine times... and I couldn't take it anymore... I have been clean for nine months now... I felt that being in jail and half-way houses helped me to find "better conections" and I just one day woke up and said i NEVER HAVE TO BE IN THIS SITUATION AGAIN...
