| working the steps
Hi , Family my name is Beloved . and I just what to share on why it's so important to work the 12 steps of any fellowship of self-help ,and spiritual prinicples. Starting here , and now first it teaches us honesty, to thine ownself be true.then it gives us Hope , that if you can I can with help from others by surrendering in the first step. then we learn to begin to trust, in this step. then moving right along , we take a look at our selves because by now we have formed a solid foundation and must go on to step 4 to avoid relapse, and to continue to work a program of recovery. this is a turning point in our process of recovery for personal reflection the mask must go. this also starts the healing process. so looking at self with-in is how we begin to see our character defects, resentments, anger relationships, as well as sexual behaviors etc. then after looking and having these things revealed to you, and are able to see, and accept them for what they are (evidence) with . more honesty comes when we admit to ourselves God and another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.then prayer comes in by asking your HP to remove the unwanted things that prevents your spiritual growth. that's when we become willing. then we must have humility when asking GOD to remove our shortcomings with this step comes (freedom) we can began to change we not only hear about the miracles we began to live them in this recovery process simply just by looking in the mirror. now remebering the wreckage of our pass we began to now practice some brotherly love by having the willingness to making a list of people we have hurt, or harmed we must now let go resentments , and see the part we played in the situation if we rae still angry then we must practice the spirtual principle of forgiveness. Now having faith in God ,and having a sponsor we go on to the 9th step now we must do all that we can to sat right our wrongs and to now be accountable it takes a lot of courage to work this step .we humble ourselves and talk with our sponsor on how to go about this step asking for guidance, and suggestions in making direct, or indirect amends we find that ther are many ways of working this step . moving right along. The 10th step takes persevrance to continuly take a look as self in ordre to continue to grow even after long periods of clean time if we still are acting out , then we talk to our sponsor on that matter.now the 11th step is a spiritual step.by this time we have built a strong relationship with our HP from begining in the 3rd step, our undrestanding of a HP grows, and changes through prayer, and meditation in addition to the necessary open-mindedness of working this step being God conscious and God centered .in our gratitude ,we become willing to seek out ways to be of service to others ,and socity as a whole knowing that we can only keep what we have by giving it away sharing with others gives us personal freedomthe 12th step others can clearly see a transformation, which we can only call it our spiritual awakening we can't really say when it happened, or how it happened, but we do know that it happened.so now I carry a message of hope in every area of my life by sponsorship, H & I, sharing at meetings for the newcomer , and going out to speak when ever asked , but most of all through the way I life which is my best attractionto many on my jounrey. THE VOICE OF MY GRATITUDE DOES NOT GO UNHEARD IT SPEAKS VERY CLEARLY AS I CONTINUE ON MY PATH OF RECOVERY. MUCH LOVE TO YOU ALL , AND KNOW THAT YOUR GOAL IS MUCH GREATER THAN YOUR STRUGGLE (GOD BLESS)

Beloved - Yes welcome to SR, I am so glad that you joined us. And that you for the wonderful post. I love sharing about the steps and the important part that they play in our lives, in living our lives not just without drugs...but living out lives. You description was very clean and understandable, and your emphasis of working with a sponsor was wonderful too. thank you again and please stick around, SR is a great place for friendship and support and has become a great part of my recovery program and I am sure will be for you too.
