What does the term PAW mean?

Post addiction withdrawal? I heard this term tonight but can't for the life of me remember what it stands for. I tried a google search and it didn't come up with what I'm looking for..

it means Protracted Alcohol Withdrawal Syndrome

After the inital 3/4 days of physical detox...we always feel better.

However...there are often problems that can appear later on.

post accute withdrawal is basically what it says...its starts up usually 2 to 3 months after using and up to 2 years after your use...the symptoms of it are depression confusion unstable walking or clumsiness..paranoia or shyness..racing thoughts..and problems with sleeping..and many other symptoms..basically all u can do is talk wiht a counselor about it and know when you have problems with it the most..as long as u dont go back to using it will fade...my counselor talks about it all the time...thats why i know about it..and i have problems with it too..i get racing thoughts memory loss and confusion..in the past before i knew about it i use to think it was just the damage of taking drugs and i use to always go back to using cause it was the only way it would go away..and i felt if i m gonna have the problem i might as well use but that would bring on more problem then anything..i hope i helped u with your question..Jackie
