Welcome to SoberRecovery, glad you found us. There's a lot of good support and friendship here. make yourself at home and post wherever you like. I certainly understand the anxity and panic of early recovery. I still get it pretty bad at times, but am working through it. I never thought I would though. You will be amazed at how much strength you really do have inside as you continue on in sobriety. Be gentle with yourself, like you would with a close friend. Stay in the monemt, it's all that's here anywhere. One minte, one hour, one day at a time and you can do this!

I found that once I got used to not taking my Xanax, that the panic slowly subsided along with the depression. Granted, I was taking way more than any small elephant would ever be prescribed, but none the less I found that once clean and sober my depression goes away. Hopefully it is the same for you. Hang on! Those pills talk strong but you are stronger, just stick with us! LG |

Sunshine You are giving back to others just by being here and sharing..this is what it is all about. I have gone through nightmares..and I know how very unsettling they can be. How the feelings left over can linger for days sometimes. Please know that even though you think it wont..it will ease off. Glad to see you back!!

Hi Ky, Welcome, welcome, welcome. Oh, do I know about panic and anxiety. LOL I can joke now, but when I was going through it, it was not funny. I am on an antidepressant that helps for it now, but I have had to detox of Xanax. Awful. I've had the nightmares too, but they do pass in time. One thing I found that helped me was a homeopathic remedy, "Calmes Forte." I get it at the health food store and at night when I lay down I put two tablets under my tongue to dissolve. For some reason my anxiety is bad at night. They seem to help me feel calm so I can go to sleep. Different things help different people. Chamomile tea is good, also learning breathing techniques. Distracting yourself from your feelings, etc. It does get better with time, and if it is not - talk to your Dr. Congrats on getting clean and sober. Keep coming back, Juls
