| Request for your prayers
Hi everyone on this page. I have 15 months sober and began my recovery nearly 2 years ago using this site. Some of you may remember me. I have had a bad month and yesterday I had surgery to remove breast cancer and some lymph nodes. I will see on Thursday next week if I need chemotherapy. I am feeling pretty scared and can't make it to meetings just now so I am looking for some support please. Love in recovery, Steph

I am new here, but I've quickly learned how important it is to have a message of encouragement to be able to view when you're facing difficult times. Tomorrow will go on and the world will keep turning despite the struggles and difficulties you're facing - BUT because you ask for this encouragement and prayers it will go on with a few more people wishing all the best for you. And I hope that this brings you comfort. Keep reaching out when you need to. Best Wishes, Liv |

Steph - it's good to see you! Hugs and prayers - I know you can't get out to a meeting, but I hope you have some ladies who can bring a meeting to you? When my sponsor had breast cancer we did exactly this for her. Keep us posted. |

Thanks guys. It's nice to hear from you. Hey Carol Ro Indy Sugah. And thanks heaps to new people for sending best wishes. I am really finding this quite hard. My sponsor has acted quite strangely - not what I expected at all. I had a few questions about morphine and possibility of cross tolerance. I ended up asking someone else about it. I am getting lots of support and help and I hope to be going to a meeting tomorrow.

sometimes it's hardest for those closest to us to give support at times like these! I'm so glad you talked with someone else since your sponsor was "acting wierd". That's the important thing about having a large and sturdy recovery friendship base....not everyone will be able to be there for us in the same way at all times. Give your sponsor a little time to adjust and lean on those who seem best able to support you at this time. I had to be on pain meds after my recent surgary (I am a little over 15 mos sober as well ) it can be a scary and dificult thing, but for me it worked out ok...I was off the pain meds in 3 weeks. Please keep us posted you will have alot of support here I am sure :ghug |

My prayers and thoughts are with you all the way. Sorry that your counselor seems not as supportive as you expected, as you need as much help as you can get. Maybe she was having a bad hair day and will be there for you next time you meet. If not, then maybe you should ask to see someone else if you can, after all it is you that comes first now. God bless and give you all you need. :praying
