Hey sisters in recovery!!
I just wanted to share something with you. If you would have met me in person..you never have known I was the same person. I was so very quiet and reserved. these boards have helped me "come out of my shell". they allow me to be me and to understand that I am ok. They allow me the freedom to say and feel what I do. this means so very much to me, and I am so very happy to be a part of this vast family.

You ladies are so awesome!! Sometimes it seems to me that we create the perfect world on these boards. We are all here for each other. We all have our strong days and weak days. We have our strong points and our weak points. Together we make an awesome whole spirit. It has always bothered me the way women tend to want to be pitted against each other. There was this friend of mine that had a friend. This friend HATED me as soon as she seen me, just because of the way I looked. She felt threatened by me because she was not happy with the way she looked. this is so wrong to do to people for any reason. I have some very attractive friends, but they are all beautiful to me in my heart. I have never had a problem telling my friends that they are gorgeous!! Or lending them a shirt that I knew they would look great in!!
This pulling together on here is so wonderful..if the real world we live in every day could be this way..think of what could be accomplished!!

Ditto to all you said Sky! We all have to stand together or fall together is how I see it. The world will change one heart at a time. I am always reminded of what Anne Frank said about people still being good at heart..it's very powerful to me, that if we can see beyond the tough mean exterior of some people and point out their good that is inside we can help to change the world.

First, you have made a difference here at SR.

Second, from your sense of humor here I can ASSURE you that you have made people laugh in your lifetime...you made a difference in their lives.

Third (don't stop me now I am on a roll) - the way you care about people here at SR that you have never even met. I mean you could pass me on the street and you would not even know me, but you care. That tells me that you care for people in the world too. You said yourself that you would lend a shirt to a friend that you knew would look good on her. Sky, that is making a difference in peoples lives, it is the little things that matter.

Okay I am done...at least for now LOL!

I have often been accused of having no sense of humor (except when I was drunk). Your posts make me laugh everyday and help me come out of my shell. I cracked a joke the other day and I thought hubby and son were gonna loose their teeth from their jaws hitting the floor so hard! They didn't know I had it in me and neither did I! Thanks for making my days a little bit brighter, a lot funnier and filled with laughter!
