Angry Pms

Does anyone suffer from really bad PMS since starting recovery? I mean, I've always had bad symptoms, but since I quit drinking it gets REALLY REALLY bad the week before my period. Last week I could hardly drag myself out of bed, and then one day I could hardly sit still I was so on edge. I'm on antidepressent medicine and that helps a little. I used to drink a lot the week of my period and that kept me chilled out - maybe it's just getting used to not having that to fall back on. Anyway, I hope it eventually will get better. I've been sober almost 3 months now....

Anyone experienced the same thing????

for me since i got clean, i pms really really bad, and i recently realized or should i say my husband brought it to my attention that i start to pms almost 2 weeks before i finally get my period. then there are the awful cramps, not just in my stomach but in my legs also. it got so bad that i finally told my doctor what was going on, she told me that because our mind and body had been so used to the drugs and alchol that we never really paid attention to the pain before, and that we had put our bodies thru such a physical change while we were useing that sometimes the body just stops doing what it's supposed to do. he told me the leg cramps were because i had my tubes tied after my daughter was born 11 years ago. and as you get older it bothers you more and more. i have no idea why your legs should bother you just because you had your tubes tied. but that's what my doc says. so in answer to your original question, yes when we are recovering, we do pms alot more
