Zero tolerance

I wondered if anyone else has noticed that their views on men/dating changed after they became sober? I find that I now have zero tolerance of "lines" that men trot out...I have zero tolerance of any guy seeing me sheerly as a physical being without a mind....I have zero tolerance of (and this one is odd) poor grammar!!! I went on a lunch date with someone this week which was painful as the guy was so nervous/shy that he barely talked...but then on msn messenger he asked if I'd (and I quote) "butter his crumpet"!!!

I think that dating while sober is going to be greatly different than when I was able to date with a few in me.

so did you ask him if he'd like his crumpet cut off with a butter knife????

Well I have only had about 10 dates in my life and about 1/2 were sober.

The last 2 were actually fun which is different for me.

so obviously I have no expereince to share, but just loved the crupmet so much!!!!

I will agree with you that dating sober feels different or i guess just the way i look at men period. I think a lot of it with me comes from that i dealt with more when i was using and now i just rather not deal with men at all. My friends think i'm nuts and they are all in recovery as well but they don't seem to have any problems with dating, the opposite sex, or sex at all for that matter. I told them I would go see a sex therapist one day!!! lol !!!!

All relationships have their issues! Sometimes I wish I had to worry about sober dating instead of living with my husband of 13 years after we drank for all of them together! and he still drinks and it pisses me off everytime.

I can relate Dancing Girl. I just gave my phone number to a guy that's been bugging me a year and then he followed me to my car and kept holding my hand and was trying very aggressively to kiss me. And then to top off that he said, I love you. OMG, a pyscho!! I still attract psychos. I have agrammar issue also - it just means you want someone who is on the same level as you are. Nothing wrong with that. I mean after the sex fades, you want meaningful conversations that you can both relate to.... It's going to be interesting that's for sure. Stories galore!
