having a really rough week

well this week has royally sucked!!!!!!!! it started out with me having to go to the emergencey room and then being diagnosed with a kidney stone which i still haven't passed so i still hurt like hell!!!!!!!! and to top it all off when i came home after working for 3 days i found that my cats breast tumors had errupted and were on the outside of her body. she was in a lot of pain judging by all of the yowling she was doing so yesterday i had her put to sleep. it was sooooo hard to do.....she was my baby.....i had her since the day she was born.....first her mother dies of breast cancer about 18 months ago and now her.....putting both of them down has been heart breaking for me. i know i sound like a whiny baby but i really miss my kitty....attitude and all!! and my daughter who will be 14 in 8 days is really pi$$ed at me for putting the cat to sleep. she just doesn't understand the amount of pain that diana had to be in and why it was the humane thing to do.....all she know is that since she was like 3 years old the cat has been there and it was her baby too!! the cat always either slept on my chest at night or on my daughters. this has been really hard on both of us. but so was putting down missy...diana's mom. i am crying uncontrollably as i write this post it hurts so much. right now i don't know which hurts more the kidney stone or my heart! and this damned stone....i have been taking pain pills right and left every 4 hours just lilke clock work and i hate it but i have too or i just can't bear it and the pills are just barely taking the edge off the pain and the doctors won't give me anything stronger than the ultram and vicodin and that is just pi$$ing me off!!!! OH.....it's going to be another long day....i can feel it now.....well i guess that is all i have to say.....just really needed to vent some of my frustrations and sadness.

Glad you are here Rachel. Sorry to hear about Diana--I know that must be tough>losing a member of the family. She will be greatly missed and I'm sure your daughter will understand this in time--that you did what was in her best interest. I know it is a hard decision to make--been there too myself--and it broke my heart. Again--I am sorry that you are dealing with that right now.

I hope you get better soon--that the stone will pass so that your pain will be lessened. Just wanted you to know that you are not alone....and I will be praying for you.

So sorry about your cat, and your stone, and your daughter. Rough day.

And I hope that the stone will pass soon. Did they tell you how big it is? If the ultram and vicodin aren't enough, your doctor *could* let you use Toradol instead of ultram. It's certainly not stronger, but it dilates the ureters a little bit and can help you pass the stone. Not knowing you or your medical history, I can't say if that's a good idea for you, but it's a thought. Either way, I hope it passes soon....

I am so sorry about your cat, animals are gifts from our HP. I had a cat that I swear as silly as this sounds a few times over the years he kept me clean.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

(((Rachel)))

I'm so sorry about Diana, the kidney stone and your daughter. It is so hard to lose one of our furbabies, because they really are part of the family.

I know kidney stones hurt really bad...I could always tell when someone would walk in the ER with one because they couldn't stay still, from pain. I agree with Diggin..we had some good results with Toradol, so check with your doctor.

Your daughter is just hurting and taking it out on you. When I was growing up, I always took my pain out on mom because she was "safe"...I knew she'd love me no matter what. It's simply a way of her working out her grief. Anger is a part of that, and I'm sorry you're getting the brunt of it, but it won't last.

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

lost, sorry to hear about your kidney stone. My X-husband has been suffering with them for a couple of years now and he's trying to get his doctor to just go in and zap them. He was laid up in the hospital for a few days over them a while back too.

I'm sorry you had such a rough week. That all just stinks!!! Big HUGS to you and I hope your days are on the up-swing.

awww, sweetie, I hate that you're still in pain. Maybe check with your doctors and see if lithotripsy is an option (a procedure that busts up the kidney stone so it can pass). My stepmom had to have it done twice, as she has frequent kidney stones. It may not be an option, depending on where the stone is and how big it is, but regardless...check back with your doctor and see if you have some other options.

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

well i went to the doctor today and they said that the stone is small enough that is should pass on its own and so they aren't going to do anything they are just going to wait it out....which just sucks for me!!!!!! but there is nothing i can do except keep increasing my fluids and try to push it thru!!!! i just wish it would pass already....well i have to go it is my daughter's birthday celebration tonight and i have to go and pick up chineese food.
