Ive missed this forum - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

Hi my name is focusontoday (cause I need to be reminded) and I came to this site in May 2005 by July of that year I moved back to the family home. I was only a newcomer & sober since Jan of that year. Well Im doing well besides a slip which means I have a new sobriety date. I had put alot into my life, giving up grog, going for my motorbike licence, moving back home & in debt, off work sick, relationship stuff, pressure on myself. I was a mess, unmanageable. I picked up a drink. I spent a few days feeling crap and was guilty & shameful. My HP got me up out to a meeting and I've been sober ever since. 2yrs & 10mnths. I've got 2 home groups, about 4 really great friends. I've been getting outside help with my depression, greif & so on. My dear father died in April. I am getting stronger one day at a time. Not all is great but today my head is clear and I can focus on my recovery.

Sounds like you're doing great no matter that you had a "slip". Sounds like you've been paying attention to yourself and doing the right thing, WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!! Nice to meet you.
