A Woman's Poem - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

This is for my sister's struggling with their SOs.
Be strong..Be proud..You are a woman...There is no harder job.

He didn't like the casserole
And he didn't like my cake.
He said my biscuits were too hard...
Not like his mother used to make.
I didn't perk the coffee right
He didn't like the stew,
I didn't mend his socks
The way his mother used to do..
I pondered for an answer
I was looking for a clue.
Then I turned around and smacked the **** out of him...
Like his mother used to do.

I have been single for about 4 years now.
So my back hand is a little rusty. LOL..
But seriously...My last reltionship was horrible. Toxic wasnt even the word.
I spent almost 4 years trying to live a "normal" life with my dealer.
WHat a joke that was.
Not a good idea. Both stopped doing what we were doing. Even moved from Fl to NY.
But the past was always lingering in both of our minds.
I would take a shower and he would get all crazy asking who I was getting all cleaned up for. Where did I think I was going. WTF? Crazy shyt like that. When I got punched in the mouth because he was drunk and I didnt want to have sex with him. That did it. He got a big ass stick up side the head. Cops came and INS took over. Now his ass sits right back in Mexico. Makes me sick to my stomach even thinking about him.

The chips were stacked out the gate.
So now I just like being by myself. I plan on staying this way for awhile.

When I find out how to believe I deserve better, THEN I'll go looking
