Unimportant question-glassware I suppose I will start this question by saying that I loved wine. Really loved it, and i adore thrift stores as well. So, I have a collection of unusual/ really nice glassware from thrift stores. And I can't seem to bring myself to wrap them up and truck them over to Goodwill. Does anyone else have this issue? I don't plan to relapse (like anyone does, right?) Do you ladies see any harm in keeping my pretty wine glasses? I can always eat ice cream from them, right?

True, and you can drink wine out of a dixie cup. If you think seeing the wine glasses might trigger you, you could always put them away in a seldom used cabinet or something, and bring them out for ice cream on special occasions.

Objects trigger some people more than others. If you find you have a problem eating ice cream out of them, or using them for another purpose, or even looking at them, are you willing to then do something about them? If they don't bother you - hey, they're just glass. Like suki said, you can drink wine out of a dixie cup. Peace & Love, Sugah P.S. Anything having to do with our recovery from addiction, no matter how trivial we tell ourselves it is, is important.

I have been thinking about this same thing. I too am a huge wine lover and had just bought a new set of beautiful glasses and a really nice counter mounted bottle opener before I started AA. I have decided to keep them. We still entertain and I really like them. Plus, Suki is right, when I was drinking I would have drank wine out of anything, Dixie cups included! ![]()

I was pretty good, I managed to unload most of my boozy paraphernalia on a friend who has alcohol self control. But those glasses are such a prize to me, I think I'll keep them. Besides, I haven't banned wine from my house, just my body.

I have some beautiful glasses made from recycled glass, I make a mean alcohol free cocktail and they are always admired by friends....I can only see a problem if they become a trigger...days were when I would drink wine out of anything I could get my hands on. I hope you can enjoy your lovely glasses.
