Celebration

Just curious, I am still in what would be considered early recovery (90 days on Saturday, woot!) and wanted to know if anyone marked these special days by celebrating? What little treats did you give yourselves for the early milestones? I am thinking of some spring shopping and a revival flic.

I think you deserve a celebration of everyday you give yourself another day of sobriety!!

Whatever your special treat for the day would be - an extra 10 minutes in the hot shower, your fav color toothbrush, buy you a bouquet of mixed flowers, go pick you some fresh flowers, a walk in the fresh air, look in the mirror and just smile, a HUGE HUGE BIG HUG, dance to your favorite song, skip on the way to work, take the long way home so you can drive by the Lake to watch the boats on the water!! Just celebrate TODAY!! Cause Today you're sober!!!

I don't think you should have to wait til Saturday - celebrate today at 88 days!!!!!!

Congratulations - you deserve it. I'm glad you made it 88 days in sobriety and I'm sure there are many others that are glad too!!!!!

Wishing you many, many more days of sobriety - One Day at a Time,
Rita

Hi Rita,

Thanks! Funny you mention a toothbrush and flowers, as it is time for a new one, and I will be going to the farmers market this weekend!

Last Saturday was my 90 days. I went w/ my sponsor to an NA speaker meeting that had a dance. (I didn't dance but it was fun to watch all the younger ppl)

We went to dinner and I had a really nice time. I say reward yourself. Will you be picking up a key tag or chip at any meetings? That really stoked me, holding it in my hand.

Congrats! Sheila

In early sobriety - I got myself sober gifts.

LIke ... a new 'special' coffee cup.
Sometimes a new 'frock' (clothes)

Congratulations are in order here so I offer you my sincere congrats.
Early in sobriety I bought music I couldn't otherwise afford because I was spending it on alcohol and drugs.
I would treat myself to new smellies for my long soothing baths too.

Oh yeah, earings and perfume, girly stuff.

But, before long, the sobriety was such a gift in itself.

I had a lovely 90 day celebration. 5 plus mile walkabout, sushi lunch, and a basil start were the highlights to the day. Thanks!
