Counting the minutes- need some kind words : )

After a relapse, I told the truth and went to an addiction specialist who I worked with (he gave me UAs and "suboxone" to get off of opiates). I am now s-l-o-w-l-y (with Dr & AA help) getting off the suboxone. It is a long process- I have 3 days off of anything at all (except ibuporfen) and though I took the weekend off, I barely have the energy to get through each day. At my home group this morning, everyone was "just keep it in the day" and so on, but I am so tired and cannot wait to get out of here. At which point I have to jet right off and get kids from school and to baseball and so on...

Please- I need some support from you ladies!

Thanks!

I am sorry you're going through a hard time right now, but if you continue to stick with it, things will improve soon.

You're doing a good thing for yourself and your family.

Anna took the words right from my mouth and said them better.

Although it doesn't feel like it when we are in the middle of a painful and tiring experience it does change all we have to do is keep putting one foot in front of the other. We are here and either have walked a similiar path or are walking a similiar path.

You are in my thoughts today. Do hang in there and let us know how you are doing.

Thank you both so much- I only have one more hour to sit cramping at this desk, then go get kids (all 5 : ) and then home to make dinner. I am asking for help all over the place and trying to remember that NONE of the rest of it matters one bit if I go to bed with anything in my system that "changes how I think & feel." Wish me luck, god and thanks again!

I'm sorry your are feeling lousy...please keep in mind this will pass and you WILL feel better with each passing day. Things to be grateful for: You are PRESENT (heart/soul/body) for your family. Your body was strong enough to have those kids and you can ride this out (one day at a time, too). See...I don't even know you and I can come up with 2! What else? You tell us! Tell us for who and what you are grateful. What gives you joy? All good stuff to think about right now. Meditate, bubble baths, sharing at meetings...all good stuff to help you ride out the withdrawl. I will keep you in my thoughts.

Springtime brings such unexpected reminders of life and all the hope and chance for renewal there is in it. So glad you were able to find something to provide you that bright spot and reminder today. Take care, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

HI - still here...just went to see dr- he said the worst is over so we'll see. Just talked to sponsor, went to early meeting today, now it feels more like an hour than a minute at a time, which I guess is progress. Peace.

Thank you for the update. I am glad you are still putting one foot in front of the other. Some days that can be a challenge in itself but it is the only way we can continue to make progress even when we don't see it. Before you know it this feeling will pass and you will find life getting easier. Take care and keep us updated.

goodgrief, I hope you are doing better yet when you read this.

Whenever I am in a funk, I resort to what for me is a tried and true method of bringing me out of it.

A Gratitude List

This doesn't have to be on paper, it can be a mental one.

Bigredme touched on this in her post.

I came up with several before I finished reading your thread.

5 Kids !

You are clean and working on your Recovery

You have a job

You have a home

You have food to cook

You have a car to drive he kids to their activities . . . .

I'm sure you can come up with many more.

Also, treat yourself after a long days work. Take a bubble bath, condition your hair, use some body spray afterwards, smooth on some lotion . . . just pamper yourself. It doesn't have to be anything that costs a great deal of money.

Hi goodgrief! Sounds like you are busy doing the next right thing. That fatigue you are experiencing should be gone soon. If it persists more than a couple weeks, please do go for a check-up. I too suggest gratitude lists (one sponsor made me do a list of 50 things to be grateful for EVERY DAY, lol!) I admit it made a big difference in my life and I soon looked forward to doing it. Take time to enjoy the beauty in nature every day, like that tree you mentioned. I remember the thrill of noticing a small blue dragonfly buzzing over my truck one of the first times I took my son fishing after I got clean. Still a precious memory to this day several years later Keep at it!

You are doing all the right things and as daydream said if the fatigue continues you might considor going to see your DR. for reassurance.
