I lived in Tx from 12-31yrs old and I did pick up an awful accent! Most of my family is from up here, I was born in Hawaii, an Army brat!!:p Now you hang in there girlfriend or I am going to send some more troops for toilet patrol!!!!! We love you here and want to see you make it!!

all right? Hell no! I am far from all right! maybe 1/4 right with 75% to go! I am going to a meeting in about 1/2 hour. Maybe I can fill my cup there..... coffee cup that is! My emotional coffee cup! I am worried about this weekend though. I have not walked in that slippery place since last relapse. I think I can handle myself but really what I don't know how to do is handle the people I am around, and how I tell them I am not drinking...

I know it's hard to get in social situations after being sober, with the drinking I used to just tell them I had migraines and couldn't drink, which was true, but not the whole eason. Just know we all care about you and I believe in you, you'll get stronger with time, and we'll hold your hand the whole time!

I have a question, do you need to go this weekend. Sometimes we can handle slippery places better than other times. Just a thought.

Hi girls!

Well that was a great meeting! I do feel better and no cravings right now!

Pauline...... I do have to go at this point. We are leaving tonight and have rooms paid for etc... It does not have to be that difficult. I have already told people in this group why I am not drinking. They seem a little taken aback, I think mostly because I do not look like the typical alkie, addict (whatever that looks like) and the other is that they are a lot younger than I am. I am 29 and they are in the 21-25 year range. Not a huge difference unless it is in alkie years! Kind of like dog years, the way we age with our hands around those drinks and pill bottles! LOL Anyways, I should be ok. I printed a meeting schedule for that area and I will go again and "fill up my emotional coffee cup" maybe this time with cream and sugar! It is afterall a vacation!

You guys are great! Thanks for caring so much. Ive said this before and I will say it again, it is strange how people you have never met face to face can be your best friends in life.
