Miracles

Be realistic. Expect a miracle. Ian Growler.

The above statement was made by an Australian man who was filled with cancerous tumors and given only a short while to live. That prediction was given to him by the medical profession many years ago.

We are always impressed with these stories of miracles and often choose to see miracles as the exception and not the rule.

We divide up our thinking into three categories---optimism, pessimism, and realism----and unconsciously have equated pessimism and realism, studiously avoiding the negative label of being an (ugh) optimist.

But, wait a minute! How easily we forget the everydayness of miracles.

A hurricane changes direction, missing all land massess and heading out to sea. A baby survives a car crash where all others were killed.

A flower blooms. A bird sings. A river flows. The sun rises----again.
