Real Friends -

last night my favorite neighbor left for another state, his wife left a month ago, his job ended yesterday, we packed up his trailer and he left at 3 this morning. We have a very close block where I live and we all watch out for each other, we all care about each other. I am so grateful to have people in my life that care.

I'm grateful today that it is sunny and warm and that I can work in my garden.

I'm grateful for my best friend, who has been my friend since we were 4 years old, and for the wonderful time that I know I will have at her daughter's (my namesake) wedding (I'm bringing the Kleenex) this coming Saturday. We have shared every special moment in our lives together, even though we live in different cities, and this will be another beautifull memory about to happen. We are much like the gals in the movie Beaches, except we both get to stay alive LOL. Ok, I'm awful

I'm grateful for my friend Pauline, who starts wonderful threads like this to remind me how very much I have to be grateful for.

That I have 10 days sober...that I had the "Big Golden Kahunas" to fianally reach out and get a sponsor(Who I HOPE will kick my ASS!)...that I have a place like this to come to...and that for the 1st time in a looonnnggg time, I actaully feel GREAT!

Keep up the gratitude list! This is really a good way to start the day!

I am grateful for my husband who told me "No, I am not going to leave you....you ARE going to go through this, you have so much potential, and you're going to stop one day and realize this!" I used to be so mad at him for that!! Today I am grateful to be sober and working my recovery. And I am especially grateful for all my new friends here. God bless every one of you!!

Today I am grateful that I have a daughter and a son who are not in addictive life of any kind..and that I have been able to give them alot of ammo to combat this. After the pain my oldest daughter has caused all of us, herself included, with her addictions, I can be very thankful for this.

to exist within the Sacred Circle, to have found SoberRecovery and the AMAZING

I am thankful for

Caffein free Diet coke, and the ability to run up the stairs, get my pants down fast enough, and pee every five minutes.

Realizing that dynamite is indeed an option, but one I choose not to take.

My cats, who grab my feet and legs in passing and cause me to trip..But I am happy to have my glasses so I can see where I am falling.

My kids, otherwise where would all of that food I buy go to?

My inner child, that way I can eat another fudge sicle!!:p

My kids and my sobriety. Being able to wake up drug free without chains holding me down will feel awesome. Just know the road that leads there is going to be a long one. I have been on methadone for exactly half of my life. Oh God...... help me.

You know what I love about this place?? The people here are so deep and have so much compassion. At home.....my husband has such a hard time identifying with lifes ups and downs. I cannot talk to him about this stuff that often.
You know how men can be.....no offense guys.....arrogant, self-centered and callous.
Should I go On??
