| Newly Diagnosed-Need Dual Recovery and REALLY wanting a JOINT
I am new to this board and was hoping to find some quick help. I am newly diagnosed Bi-Polar depressed and working on being sober...SMOKED way too much pot trying to dull the pain and am back in home state for a week and feeling very overwhelmed and really wanting to smoke a joint. Can't take my meds for another housr or so to make the sleep come and block everything out

Welcome to Sober Recovery You'll find a lot of support here.In addition to the Women's forum we have several others, including Substance Abuse, Narcotics Anonymous and AA.There are also forums for PTSD and depression.Feel free to look around and jump in wherever you like. I am very familiar with the feelings you have,as I also have a dual diagnosis.I can tell you that with time, coping will be less difficult. In the meantime,be sure to treat yourself well.Plenty of rest, and good food will help. And do something nice just for yourself.Keep posting and let us know how you're doing. phoenix |

Daisygirl - I would also like to say welcome and ditto to what Phoenix has already said. SR is a great place for friendship and support, it is a great addition to my program. I hope that you will join and and we can get to know you better. Have you thought about attending 12 step meetings in your area? the support you would find would be amazing.

Hi, I too am new to Recovery. I have a week clean off of pot smoking and the things that keep my mind off weed is to keep busy doing ANYTHING ELSE...read, sleep, surf the net....it all works for me. I find that educating myself is helping me overcome my need for drugs and I am trying to apply what I read to my life one day at a time.. Read these boards and keep believing in Yourself!!!! Lucky
