| Looking for a friend...
Hi, I'm new to the board, and I'm 8 days sober(again). Ineed help keeping the faith. I'm 31, have not much life to speak of, still live with my Mom. I'm an RN with a suspended license, and am seriously thinking of going thru the steps to get it back. Oh yeah, I'm an alcoholic, by-the-way, and drug of choice is vodka--by the pint. Just looking for a friend or two(or more) so we can support each other, and I can learn about REAL sobriety... Thanks... Kai |

{{WELCOME KAIBABY}} I am 31 too and struggling with staying sober. I have made it 3 weeks now, I haven't done that for a very long time. Alcohol isn't my DOC but I was never prejudiced against it, I had some real problems with it as a teenager. I like narcotics, fentanyl patches lortab, morphine, etc. I understand how difficult early sobriety is and just wanted to welcome you to the boards and let you know I care. Keep posting and I hope to get to know you better. Many hugs and hope too, Tammie |

| Thanks, Tammie....
I got both your messages. Yes, I had a nice little love affair with narcotics, too...lortab, y'know, anything that would zone me out, but then I figured I could go into oblivion legally and more cheaply with vodka. I'm just tired of not living; fact is, I guess I just don't know how to function with just myself as company. I've shut everyone out of my life until there's no one left, and now I'm racking my brain to figure out how to build a life for myself so that I don't just merely exist...to find something to look forward to. Don't mean to sound pathetic, but at this point, I guess I am...anyway, feel free to email me anytime, and pass my address along, too. Thank you for welcoming me... Kai |

| Welcome
to the boards Kaibaby. We are all women dealing with sobriety on a day to day basis. I think it would be great to start a 12 step program! Call your locall AA office, and get directions to a meeting. Try several, sometimes they are not a perfect fit the first time...but you will meet some awesome people and get the face to face support you need. Keep posting' Anne |

You don't sound pathetic...you sound like you need understanding and people to care......I think you will find both here, and it will help you so much. Many hugs and hope too, Tammie |
