Hi Dig, The time when I've felt numb are when I am very depressed and just have shut myself off and can no longer feel. I don't like that feeling and, for me, it signals that I am beginning a downward spiral because when I was numb I didn't care a hoot for myself. I'm glad you're feeling better than before, of course, that's a great improvement and sometimes talking to someone can really help. Have you talked to your dr and is it possible that antidepressants might help or counselling? I also think exercise is really good if you can motivate yourself to get out and do something.

Digginit, My experience with effexor was that it left me feeling like a zombie. Kind of like what you describe. I have tried several anti-depressants over the years and right now cymbalta seems to be doing a good job with only minimal side effects like dry mouth. Hang in there and remember there is a solution but sometimes we just have to work harder to find it. I know finding a workable solution to my depression has taken a lot of work.

| yeah...his comment was based on my *mental* moment. It was justified. It's all gonna get better. I do have faith in that. This is what happens when I use coke. It's ugly, but getting better. Learned today that I'm gonna have to have surgery again. Have an compression on my C-spine (the cord, not a nerve root) that's gotten my doc's attention in a really bad way. Not up for it. Not up for having to think about pain meds. I guess it's just a "take it as it comes" kinda thing. Peace~ dig
