This is really embarassing

There's something that I think is going to get in the way of my recovery, and it's incredibly humiliating.

Ever since I've had a sexuality, drunkenness has turned me on. When I was a kid, it was drunk scenes in comic books. Lately, it's been YouTube videos and such. I can't help it, it gets me off. I'm worried that, once I'm in a sober place, this will be a problem. Does anyone have experience with anything similar to this?

I think after you get some clean time under your belt, and your views of the drunk lifestyle change, you may find that it is no longer the case. Once my head was clear and I was thinking straight, I found that the whole foundation of my reasoning changed.

I 100% agree with Surly, and I also want to add that whenever we have any kind of reservation, like I quoted you here, that is an opening for our disease to take over. For me, the slight hint that something could get in the way of my recovery is dangerous. That is where the 'fake it til you make it' part comes in for me.

Just take it one day at a time.

Hi Tellus,

Because I only ever experienced sexuality while under the influence, I never equated sex with sobriety. I felt warm, loose, and sexual when drinking. I didn't think I would ever feel sexual without booze. I was wrong. I'm happy to say that sex while sober can be a wonderful experience.
I know you were talking more about being turned on by others' drunkenness, but thought I would throw this out there, anyway.
