I think I found the right area to write in. I have been reading for hours now. It is so nice to relate to people sitting at home. And I hope I can get to know you all. Been recovering for eight years. Thought I would take a shot at getting my license back again. I have been trying for the last five years. I got a DUI and a UBAC IN 1997. This time I will try a lawyer. Boy, it is hard to get the appeals board to understand that I am not a threat if i don't drink. I can understand there side but does anyone have any advice?

I guess I dont really know the legal stuff, but I would think by now you should be able to get your license back! I hope so anyway. It must be very difficult having to rely on others for transportation, etc... I know what you mean about relating to others sitting at home. I found this site a few weeks ago, and I love it!! Keep posting... |

My license was taken away for a year in 1997. So, when I went to the secratary of state to get it back they said I had to apply for a hearing at the appeals board. If a person has two convictions in seven year's a drivers license is revoked. And I hear they are changing it to 10 years. I could not afford a lawyer back when this happened. So, I went to three appeals myself over the years. I did meet all the requirements to get a restricted. Witch was a page long. Have not been able to afford the extra cost of doing that interlock and a car to put it in. If you have three malfuctions on that device a person gets it taken away for another year. Mouthwash can set that thing off. And now they are adding drug charges to the list. Any two charges a person will go through what I have unless you can afford a lawyer.

Hey laurenlanai25 So glad you are not going through this. I live in Michigan. 2 offence here gets your license revoked. I'm sure a lot of people in this state is not aware of that. I do tell people I know, what they are looking at. But everyone seems to think they will not get caught.
