| Dreams of drinking
I had a horrible dream last night that I was sneaking drinks during a family party. I swear when I first woke up and was very groggy I thought it had actually happened. Thank God it was a dream! Anyone else have these? |

Hey BeagleNut - I have just had a series of real weird, unsettling dreams. They were not about drinking, per se, but when I woke up, I had the same feeling that you had -that the dreams really happened and my grogginess was being caused by a hangover, which set off some panic feelings. I started a thread on the newbie board about it, it is probably a few pages back by now -the thread title is "Reminders of Being Drunk" - there are a lot of great responses there you might want to check out. I am glad you posted this...I felt much better after reading the responses on the other thread, hope you will too.

Yes, I still have them. Not as often as I used to, but I do. Sometimes I wake up thinking I used for sure, sometimes I can taste my doc in my throat. That is my disease trying to mess with my head when that happens.

I had one for the first time in years I used to drink so I didn't have dreams then I quit dreaming all together, I guess it has something to do with the fact I am up for days without actually getting solid sleep. But I spoke with my therapist regarding it and he told me it was just my alcoholic brain departing from my subconcious thought pattern, I was like huh in laymans terms please....he said it is just my mind remembering what it was like to be drunk since I had a strong enough will power to suppress it that it took my subcounious mind to get drunk, told him subcounsious needs a meeting........lol so now I am sleeping with soft music on, seems to help no groggy hung over feeling anymore!

I have had using dreams alot. I would wake up right before I pushed in the plugger and be scratching at my arm so intensly that you would have those I had spiders on me.. it sucks. I have been doing something COMPLETELY NONE using related before I go to bed. like read a book or talk to my mom. something to get my mind off things. I try not to jsut lay in bed before falling asleep and think about things.it sometimes works for days at time before I have a dream with using in it.
