Day 4

Well I will probably loose both my jobs thanks to Sun. mornings arrest. I thought everything was going to good to be true, but its not easy to keep things quite in a small town. So I hope I find out soon if i loose my fulltime job, i already know i lost my part time. As long as I look now I should be able to find a decent job hopefully make what i was making but it definitely doesn't help the urge to go have a beer. Especially when that's all there is to do in this place. Don't get me wrong I live pretty much at the beach but we have beaches and farms we're no big commercial place. Everyone talks about going out to a bar all the time. Good ol' southern folks. Although its probably every where but I really feel like that's all there is to do so I'm going to be sitting in the house alot at least I have the beach!! I love the beach!!

I love the beach too.

On vacations, I always head for the beach. There is just so much peace to be found walking by the ocean.

Good luck with your job search.

Glad you're here, rachange. Please keep reading and posting. Just don't drink today, and you'll make it to day 5.

Hi and welcome rechange. I grew up near the ocean and

love large bodies of water, it's calming.

There is so more than having a beer, it seems to

be more of a habit of conveinence and routine than anything else.

Try some new hobbies, anything..best wishes, hope3

Rachange

How are you doing? Still hanging in there?

How was your day yesterday? Thinking of you.

Hi, I'm Laurie.
Hopefully this post finds you still sober.

Have you gone to meetings? Do you have other recovering people you can 'talk' to (not just post).? Do you have reading material about recovery?

Take the Big Book, or the Basic Text or other recovery material to the beach and sit and read. Fill your mind and your senses with the spirituality and peace that comes from it.

Get to a meeting and get some phone numbers.

Prayers going out for you.

Hi laurie
ditto to what namommy said. Plus remember to have a grateful heart.
Reading, strufying, listening to speaker tapes all were o ftremendous help to get my thinking changed.

Please keep us posted on your progress. Thge only way to get throught he fear and the pain is to walk through it. Pain promostes growth. it is the sufferieng that is optional.
