I am grateful for this thread, a daily reminder to focus on gratitude. Some days it is really difficult to find even one thing that I'm grateful for (and right now I'm grateful that today is NOT one of those days). Then I tell myself that I'm grateful to be alive and clean. Sometimes it's a lie, but I figure it's a good thing to tell myself...lol I'm grateful that, despite the ups and downs, things are much better today than they were a year ago. Progress. ~dig

I'm grateful that my friend -- the one who was texting me suicide threats -- is alive and on Librium in Mississippi. Hopefully she's detoxing. But knowing her, she just scored some benzos...lol. At least she's alive. ~dig

. That 7 1/2 years ago, I listened to the wise man who told me not to let anything get in the way of my sobriety.

Hi, I'm new and very grateful to be able to log on here and connect with others in recovery. I'm grateful that I put the brakes on a bender after only three weeks. I'm grateful that my neighbor was available to take me to a meeting last night--while I was still tipsy. I'm eternally grateful that in this mess of a life I have had, I am still able to connect with surrogate family, in-laws, and friends who can share a healthy life with me. And, most importantly, I am grateful for my husband and our two filthy little noisy monsters. Lena |

. I'm grateful that I got to sit on a beach and swim in the ocean today. I'm in my glory at the beach!

| I am deeply grateful that my Sponsee made it through emergency open-heart surgery. She's such a caring and fun person... the world is simply a better place with her in it. All prayers are appreciated... her name is Chris.

. I'm grateful that I'm sober today because I've been able to be of support to a friend who had cancer surgery last week. We took a meeting to her home yesterday & while we were there, her dr. called to say THEY GOT IT ALL! She's free! She's cancer free!

I've neglected my gratitude list lately because I've just been so HAPPY and fulfilled in my life. I should still take time to identify what I'm grateful for. The list is so long. Lately, I've been mostly grateful for being able to be me again.... I'm grateful that I LIKE who I am today and that I can be proud of the mother that I've become and of the work I do day-to-day. I'm grateful that there are women in recovery. dig

I am grateful today that instead of snapping back at people who hurt me I thought long and hard before I spoke. Thinking the best of people is way easier then feeling wounded. Let it go......

Someone asked me on another message board about my gripes and I had NONE. I have been just really happy. I am greatful that I can embrace my happiness and ride the wave.
