| recovery
You know no matter how long we are in recovery .We could get bit in the bum......lol..........I went to my womens group,Had a great time everyone shared.Then I came home thinking it was great.All of a sudden I want to use,So I am off phone calls internet searching for a meeting.NO LUCK.........So I take a nap and survive but Lord why must I be tested and the question is................Does anyone have any other suggestions for me on this I am open for any feedback thanks...

bubblze - You did the right thing, you looked for help. What I have done when this has happened, and believe me it has, even after a good meeting, like you said. Pick up the phone, call people that you just saw in the meeting, read some kind of recovery material. Or come here and read stuff around the boards. We can only get through this one day at a time, together.

For me, when the thought comes, I just tell myslef a couple of things: 1: "this too shall Pass" ( I know it's a cliche, but it is sooooo true for me.) 2: I pray that God get me through the thought without a drink. and 3: I just don't drink or use no matter what! For me, #3 is the most important. No matter what I am feeling or thinking, I just don't do it no matter what, and shortly the desire subsides, and I'm back to my senses. Keep up the good work and just take it one day at a time! :-) |
