Last week I went out on 3 job interviews and...I GOT A JOB!!!!!!! it is the job that i wanted most....working with a young girl who is blind, autistic, and mildly mentally handicapped. I am so excited...she is such a sweetheart!!!!! i start on the 20th and i can't wait for the day to get here!!!!! i honestly can't remember the last time i was this excited about something!!!! well..excluding my divorce being final...lol...well gotta run...i have a therapy appointment to get to and don't want to be late!!!

Great news Lost, I am a Teacher assistant with special education.

I am currently working with two classes 12-1-1's. I have 3 autistic children in one class and 2 in the other. It amazes me how special these children realy are when we communicate with them their way...

Have fun on your new journey, that child is sure lucky to have you, hope3

sorry i haven't posted sooneer, i have been busy getting ready to start work. getting all my paperwork in order and such...and my excitement grows everyday!!!! thanks so much for all of the encouragement from everyone!!!!! it feels sooooo good to hear!!!! i feel like this job is my chance at a dream i shoved aside 16 years ago when i found out i was pregnant. originally when i joined the navy 17 years ago i did it to get college money so i could go to college and get a degree in teaching, specializing in special education....then i got pregnant with my son and i decided that i would have to put teaching on hold till he was grown....then finding out he is autistic....well lets just say everyday is a challenge.....but now that my kids are older and don't need me 24/7 and don't need 150% of mommy i won't don't feel guilty for taking this job and i am doing something that i love!!!! gosh i am soo excited....is it tuesday yet??? lol.....wow...my boss just called and she wants me to pick up some extra hours tomorrow. we are going to take c to a show!! i am sooooo excited. well gotta go....with my daughter at her friends this weekend my son and i have been having quality time together and he wants to play a card game!!
