Just tired, I, too, am concerned about my absent mindedness. Last week, I looked for some things, couldn't find them and assumed that someone I knew took them for reasons I knew. That assumption got back to them. They called and told me right where the missing items were. Boy, do I feel like an a$$! Yesterday I went to take one of my meds, the only one I still have with me ....but when I opened the bottle there were way more there than I expected. Lo and behold, the bottle I lost 2 wks ago surfaced. I am still scratching my head trying to figure out how that happened! I looked EVERYWHERE for them and then finally invented, I guess, a memory of dropping them in a bag I threw away! And now I can't remember where I did find or pick up this bottle. If A were around no one would be able to convince me he wasn't doing these things to me on purpose. I HAVE to keep my things organized, otherwise I can't find them and even then........ |

Live, I have the same problem with absentmindedness, and losing things or misplacing them. It gets really frustrating. A few weeks ago I lost my wallet, and I have no idea where. I was hoping I had misplaced it somewhere in the house, but it has not turned up, so I've had to replace everything. Sometimes I wonder if there is a poltergeist following me around hiding things from me. I'll lose or misplace something, and then it will turn up in some strange place. LOL Juls |

Do you guys think that maybe it is something in the air now a days??? I am kidding, but I mean it seems to hit us at all different ages. Yesterday I could not find my sunglasses. Now I am one of those people that can keep the same pair for like a year. I buy then, cheapos, but I love them and I hang on to them. Yesterday for some reason I put them on the dryer in the garage but did not rmember that. I looked everywhere then assumed I had left them in the store until I went to put my dog in her pen and there they were. Live - what about putting your meds in one of those containers that as a box for each day? Juls - loving your wallet, been there, well actually mine was stolen once, but what a bummer!!!

I just heard on the news...NEWSFLASH...that prolonged stress causes memory problems. They were talking about men in war...of course men...but does that make sense? I think it does. I live a charmed life. I lost my wallet in Soldier Field and it was returned. I left my purse many places but the best one was in a shopping cart in the parking lot and it was returned. Now I am so paranoid I am always checking. Sunglasses? I buy good ones and keep them for years...but I have driven back to restaurants after I have left them there. They have always been there. One of these days I am going to get caught! JT

Hey, I've never bought a pair of sunglasses in my life. I'm always finding one's other people have lost. I have five or six pairs, and for some reason I don't seem to lose those. Of course now that I've said that I surely will lose them all. LOL Juls |

I think it's more about distractions than memory problems. Do you ever drive and find that you've been daydreaming and don't remember anything about the last 20 miles of driving? I do that. It wasn't a problem with the memory, but my mind being somewhere else. Just a thought. Hugs, MG |

Seriously, though, the thing that has me worried is that like a stroke victim, I cannot recall words for things that I know. It makes me feel so senile. I have loved flowers and gardening for years, knew the names, common and botannical etc.....yesterday we went flower shopping and I could not come up with the name of a very common flower that I have planted for years. It drove me crazy. I finnaly called my mom to ask her. For two days I have been trying to remember the word for the woman/mermaid/whatever that is/was put on the front of boats/ships...does anyone know what I mean or what the word is? I can't stand this. My language/vocabulary was always one of my strongest points. live

OMG! I have the same problem with words. Yesterday I could not get a sentence out correctly about where we were going. 3 different stops, 3 destinations and I could not do it. The kids thought it was hilarious, not me, it seems to be getting worse. Yesterday I blamed it on this blasted 2 day sinus headache that I have!! But it happens more ofthen than I want to admit. My mind things faster than the words can come out of my mouth if that makes any sense. Live - I don't the name of that lady thing sorry. but...also my mind and body are rarely even in the same room!!!!

Okay, yesterday I read a health article that calls blueberries the brain berry, supposed to help with memory.....I shall start eating blueberries like popcorn! Also, did ya know, that blueberries are just as good for the kidneys as cranberries? And, Anns, I am on the B-6 regime you enlightened us about..too soon to know how it works for me, but I have faith!
