PhoenixJ- am man barely alive...

Sorry, 6 mil. man thought there. Where was I? Recovering from 20% 4th degree burns, nearly died 4 times. Wife refused to be next of kin (were separated) , father died when in a coma (4 weeks) had 20 surgical procedures. A great deal of pain and screaming. Moved to a very basic place- no money or family support. Like something out of the old testament. Then discovered AA and SR. 6 months sober and in a much safer place. Lonely, scared, sad- but sober, safe and very much alive and fighting.

Thanks D7 (wasn't that a type of bulldozer?), individually we are single strands (threads?) but braided together make a strong formidable rope. Strength in unity.

Thank you for giving me hope that he could be okay and fight. I am sorry what you went through and are going through but proud of you for fighting. I hope to God he does. I know he loves life and can get there again. Big hugs!

I'm glad you joined us PJ, I often refer to "strangely wrapped gifts"...those gifts we find in the depth of adversity. I am sorry for your pain, physically and emotionally, and hope you too find the gifts that will see you through the rough days ahead.

Ann- the rough bits are more smootherer now. Some days I think I could think about the possibility of being happy somedays. Of course early recovery has to be all pain, fire and brimstone- you know, where I get to write gut wrenching rap words on a dark alley sidewalk on the back of a napkin. Where I can converse with the Delhi Lama and win. Gifts I have and am finding.
9insert GIANT smiley face here).
