Still amazed at times that (we) lived through all of that.
So many are gone -- heartbreaking.

That sickening smell of addiction, drugs and booze.

Isn't it amazing to be free of that today ?

Living the Dream

That Smell is one of my favorite songs by the band. No so much for the lyrics, but the way the guitars weave a story.

It's the ultimate irony that, three days after the album with this song was released, three band members died doing something horrifically stupid in a small airplane.

It hits home for me, because this point in time, in 1977, was right when I was drinking my first six packs and smoking my first weed... I was about 16. It set the stage for a long journey of substance abuse.

That's about the same age that I started hitting it heavy.
As you know, it did me no good.
If granted -- there is a time to clean up and stay clean -- good luck.
