Awake in the night, planning how to get off work
Today I took my first sickie for many years having decided that I was too hungover to risk driving. This was the final straw so I am giving up forever, starting today. Having tried several times before by myself, I am now following the advice of a good friend and will use this wonderful community to help me stay sober. Looking forward to the fog clearing.

Welcome to the forum, there's great support here from all over the world. Your story sounds familiar, we've been there. Poke around and read, post, and get your life on track! Welcome again.
Welcome mba! I wish i'd done the same. It took many of those sick days, and worse, before I sobered up before losing a career. I hadn't used them in over a decade, then as the disease progressed, so did my ability to miss work.
Take advantage of the clarity in your decision; if you don't, i feel most of us can testify it will never get better, only worse.
