| Getting sober for him, staying sober for me, living sober for us
I suppose any reason is a good reason to get sober as long as you stay sober for a good reason. In this case, I got sober so I wouldn't lose someone I love, and am staying sober because it's the life I want for myself.

This is a really lovely thread, well constructed with the emphasis on,'staying sober for me', because at the end of the day, that's what it's all about. Those who say they're going to get sober for someone else, rarely do, those who get sober for themselves, do, selfish programme, right!
