| When I found SR.....
Which just happened to be a few days ago I just finished writing a brief for an operation I have coming up soon. I was sitting in the a.c. because the 130 degree temps. outside here in Iraq just are a whole lot of fun to hang out in. I have been sober now 118 days and was looking to meet people that could share their experiences with me since I won't have AA or the Navy treatment center available for a while still. I can't tell you all enough how much I love this sight. This is just the thing I was hoping it would be. In just the few days since registering ( computer problems ) I have heard from some amazing people that have shared words that have touched me. Thank you all.

Thank you for your service to our country Shawn, and for sharing your recovery on SR! Congrats on your 4 months of recovery. Keep reading and posting here, you'll make friends quickly and we'll look forward to hearing more from you. BTW, the weather in Iraq sounds a lot like Phoenix!

Thanks Astro, Weather feels like Arizona as well. Looks like the area between Pheonix and Tuscon. Much more dirt and rolling hills though. No real mountains, but just as vast. However we don't get great Mexican food here, just chilli with beans MRE's...lol. Overall it could be worse. Gets humid here being on a lake in the western part of the country but all in all very dry during the day. I can go the rest of my life without seeing another sandstorm. Take care man. Shawn |
