will your recovery ever be complete?

even without the drugs or hooch, do you still find yourself doing things you wish you didn't? like loosing your temper or putting important things off?
i read too much, nd 'd do more sociable things of given the opportunity, but at least i dont watch t.v.
i still get mad, but i have plenty to get mad about, but its not often i do. forunately i see allot of things that used to set me off as being sickly humorous. luckily my humor has always had hat bent anyhow.

sure.

but that's just ... being alive.

good for you! I *have* started watching tv,
but nothing can make me give up my beloved NPR, I'm afraid.

I'm addicted to PBS...just a couple of shows..
'Frontline'
and "American Experience' ....
'Nova'...
"Between the Lions"...
"Independent Lens"...

Maybe one day you will grow past that even more.

I can get angry but when I stop and look at things... I have no reason to be getting angry.
I will never be 100% but there are areas I feel that I am at 99.9% and a few areas I still need a little more work then that as well.

Growing and learning each day will bring us closer to that 100% mark.

clarification

the *sure* answer was for the 'do you ever feel you're going about other tasks and interests with the same obsessive traits' thing.

Do I think I'll ever be 'over' recovery -
or 'recovered' ...

no.

IT's not a thing .. that ends.

I like to think I'm a "work in progress".

[quote=best;1770561]Maybe one day you will grow past that even more.

I can get angry but when I stop and look at things... I have no reason to be getting angry.

That is always how I've seen things, I've even had therapist try and get me to be angry, I don't get angry hardly ever, when I do, it really throws me. I've never felt like I had a reason to be angry. Especially when I realize how lucky I do have it...

I will never be 100% but there are areas I feel that I am at 99.9% and a few areas I still need a little more work then that as well.

Growing and learning each day will bring us closer to that 100% mark.

Well said....

Oh yea, totally. I am a procrastinator big time...
I also am really bad on black and white thinking..
And I hold things in, if I am upset, hurt, or lol those rare times angry, I don't let it out, or I do but on myself....
I think like someone said, we are all a work of progress...

Great post, I have been thinking a lot about some things I know I need to work on, a few things are really holding me back right now, and it's really weighing me down.....

Thanks!

I am recovered, but as a human like ALL others there is room for improvement. This is ALL HUMANS... to separate ourselves is not in the interest of true spirituality!

Do I have a probelm with substance abuse? No. I stopped that. Do I need to grow? Heck YES!! LOL I hope I never stop growing!

always recovering ! always growing . . . if i stop growing i could go back to a substance anytime ! today alcohol / drugs are not the problem so one definition i am recovered from that - but it could come back ! it is a lifelong journey and a great one !!!

my spiritual journey will NEVER end . . .
