There was a time that SR was simple. I only had to think about not drinking. Today I have to think about why. Even I, started to question why I was so weak. In Vietnam, I was able to be taught how to over ride Don. They put me on medication and counseling. I stopped this at the suggestion of people on SR. My recovery isn't simple but, the solution is. If I don't drink I'll recover. Today? I don't care what some people on SR think. I'm calling AA.

Don; You should do whatever works for YOU! And never take medical advice from someone who doesn't have their MD. It pisses me off to no end that people want to play doctor without doing the work of actually BECOMING a doctor! There are no short cuts to that! Put your faith in your doctor, Don. Their only agenda is that they want you to be well. You know AA works if you work it. Who cares again what others think? You are an independent agent, Don. You do what works for you. You don't owe anyone else an explanation. Do what works for you. And leave the BS at the door. What I mean is, if someone tells you something that not true for you, consider it BS and let it GO! You don't need that in your life. You deserve better. Believe that and begin the work necessary to give yourself nothing but the best. We're all here for ya, Don... ![]() Shalom!

"Keep It Simple" is a very effective program slogan. As we move forward in our recovery, we find tools along the way. If they work, we add them to our toolbox. If they don't work, we leave them aside. The goal is recovery, pure and simple. Those of us who have dysfunctional lifestyles tend to overcomplicate things and thought processes. I'm guessing that was the origin of the slogan "Keep It Simple". |
