Blessings In Disguise

Blessings in Disguise

Our real blessings often appear to us in the shape of pains, losses and disappointments. - Joseph Addison

At the moment it seems quite effectively disguised. - Winston Churchill to his wife, 26 July 1945, who had suggested his election defeat might be a blessing in disguise.

What I'm looking for is a blessing that's not in disguise. - Kitty O'Neill Collins

We're all familiar with a blessing in disguise. What is less commonly appreciated is the disguise in many a blessing. - Mardy Grothe

Providence creates an unfolding situation that is exactly what the person needs, although not always what he may think he wants or desires. ... Providence also makes sure that at certain crucial points the right circumstance provides a spouse or a job or house when needed, often against apparently hostile odds. This is called luck by those who are unaware of the workings of higher Worlds. Providence also creates very difficult circumstances to reveal or dissolve a fixed situation like a dead marriage or an unhealthy occupation. This is called bad luck or later, 'a blessing in disguise'. - Warren Kenton, The Anatomy of Fate

What seems to us bitter trials are often blessings in disguise. - Oscar Wilde

All of us have seen good come out of disaster . . . the blessing in disguise. When you expect good to come from negativity, it will. What you think about, you bring about. - Joyce Duco

I read this today and thought it would be a good time to bring it here.

In hindsight, some of the biggest obstacles in my life have actually been blessings in disguise. As a matter of fact, it has happened so often that I now just look for the gift when something goes wrong in my life. It rarely takes long before I find it.

Hugs
Ann

What you think about, you do.
What you do, you become.
