| Joy of the Journey
Are you so focused on results that you miss the joy of the journey? In your quest to get there quickly, are you bypassing much of the value along the way? Certainly it is important to focus on the results you intend to reach. It is also critical to focus on and appreciate the real value that goes into making those results, and that value is to be found and to be lived along the way. Achievement is not some future object. It is a present state of being. Yes, achievement does indeed have a future objective. Yet the place where achievement happens is always here and now. Because of that, the more you enjoy building the achievement, the more valuable that achievement will always be. The more you savor the journey, the more magnificent and fulfilling the destination will be. Success is not merely something that you will someday attain. Success is yours the moment you begin to truly appreciate, value and enjoy the journey. -- Ralph Marston

I hope you don't take offence to this Ann, because it really is not directed at you, but this Ralph guy gives me the creeps somewhat. He seems to know everything about how people should live their lives. I wonder if he ever has a "crazy" moment, where he just piles in the porn, call girls, huge caskats of cocaine etc...? I can positivley predict that if I took on board what he says, on a daily basis, then the main emotion I would feel would be guilt. I hope you don't mind my comments. |

Good gravy, Mill. Don't read the posts if you don't like what's being said. As for the rest of us (meaning me), I love the these posts and look forward to reading them every day. Thanks, Ann. --phinny

I've never met the man, but personally I get a lot of inspiration from what he posts. If you don't like it, don't read it. Hugs Ann

I'm not trying to encourage bad behaviour on the forum, but that cracked me up.

I have got some severe blinkers on at the moment. I can sometimes achieve this, other times not so.

We all come equipped with sevaral pairs. Shedding them as best we can is part of recovery, for me anyway.
