Ah, come on Mill. Take a break if you must, but come on back after awhile. We are a dysfunctional lot. Don't let that run you off. One day we will all learn to play together well. Maybe that has nothing to do with why you're leaving, but reconsider your farewell. I think you like it here. I enjoy your company.

I am sure going to miss you Mill, you have defently helped me to think about a lot of things. I do need to make an appology to you for the remark that I made to you on one of my post, I was wrong for how I did reply to you. Hope that you do come back and I will miss you. Love Vic

Wish you wouldn't go. If you must, you must, though... stay sober, and thanks for all the good debate, discussion, and thoughtfulness. Take care of you. --anne

gonna leave all the good because of the bad... ;o) me.. I'd choose to ignore the bad... but then.. I got my hands slapped here as well.. so.. my ignoring falters at times... still... I would not eschew all the good I get from SR ... May it's goodness travel with you.. ;o) |

Just take a break. Staying connected to others that understand is important. I've felt this way before. Sometimes trying a different board gives a new perspective. Hey, if you do go, we'll leave the light on to guide you back. Don W

Sounds like you are going through a pretty difficult time and I am truly sorry that you are. In your post you repeat the phrase F##K it. If you can take a breath and slow down a bit you might want to take a minute to think where F##K it will take you. Does F##K it mean that you are leaving this site? If so, what is it that compels you to leave? Would like some links to some other sites that you might enjoy? Does F##K it mean that you are returning to a problem behavior? If so, have you considered where that will take you? What will be the consequences? IF you start using now, where will you be later today? Tomorrow? Perhaps F##K it just means that you are having a frustrating day today. I saw your other thread about the dog, and I am truly sorry. It is my experience that getting things out and talking about them is usually helpful. All too often when people experience frustrations they run away from support. I have done it and it was never really productive. Sounds like Mill is doing it now. Hang out here if it helps, take a break if you need to. Do something, but be very careful and aware of where F##K it will take you. Peace. Last edited by Paulie; 09-22-2005 at 10:10 AM. Reason: inappropriate language | |

I agree with Bartender, Vic. You're being a little bit inflammatory here. I really hope you're just having one of those days - trust me, I know what that's like. I wish you well. --anne

Hey, Mill. Whenever I see someone leaving I like to sleuth around and see what blew up beforehand. It looks like it was the AA thing again. Don't know if you are still checking replies, but I just wanted to let you know that I've enjoyed your non-AA related posts since you made the attempt a while back to get away from the debating. I stayed away from the comparison threads specifically to avoid the animosity that always ensues. I've had some very good days here on SR as a result of that decision, and I still have my own oft-changing beliefs. Anyway, I was one of the ones who once took exception to the very idea of debate on the board, and this put me kind of at odds with you. Since then, I've received plenty of indications that I am still on my own and definitely not any closer to any clique that may exist here. Still not working my steps very well in AA due in large part to underlying social anxiety that I am working on through therapy and cognitive exercises, but I nevertheless enyoy the company of a few members of AA in each meeting, even though I am a reclusive dry drunk. Most people in AA are somewhere between the two extremes of grudging participation and dismissal of any other way to recovery. It is possible to "take what you need and leave the rest" and return home to hammer out some CBT before saying a nightly prayer...or not. I felt good when you let the debate thing go with no winner or loser. Sorry to se you go. |
