OK I am doing much better on my codie issues...but I notice over the last year I have started doing something kind of looney and I don't know why. Once a month or so I get this urge and just start cooking tons of stuff and there is only me and Colby (my 3 year old) here. I do this running back and forth to the computer by the way...IT"S CRAZY For instance tonight I cooked brocoli and cheese , homemade baked beans , cabbage , corn on the cob, biscuits AND cornbread , fried chicken wings and bar-b-q little smokies, strawberry cake with vanilla icing and a lemon chess pie ...now I have all this stuff and I don't even want to eat because I am tired and now I want to go to bed and this happens EVERYTIME. I stick all the stuff iin the fridge...and look at all the dishes and know I'm going nuts...then let the dishes sit the next day. It's a ritual....WHY do I do this ?????? Last month I cooked so much I fed all the elderly in the neighbor hood. Can someone tell me why I do this or does anyone else do anything odd like this ? |

Sound like we should hold the next round up in Tyler Texas. I gained 10 pounds just reading. All kidding aside. We alcoholics tend to over do many things. I collect way more projects than I could ever do. Plus, when we get up tight we can seek relief in different ways. You've maybe chosen cooking, I like to clean house when stressed. Myself, I think your normal and just venting energy. Don W

Wow! My husband would be overjoyed if I had days like that. Idea; make things that freeze good and make tv dinners for you and the little one. That way when you dont feel like cooking, they will be there. ........Hopping the next plane by the way! lol! hugs, tj |

Come on tj I will load you up ...but you know what really when I cook a whole lot of stuff like that I think it kind of just gives me a break from the real world..I don't think or worry about anything stressful at that time..it's like I'm in my own little world

My wife also has these moments, and she cooks for an army. There are only us two. Of course she is Italian, so you add stress and Yum! Don W

I do that too with cooking maybe a little less extreme though I love to cook. I can spend all day in the kitchen. And I kind of get on a roll and before you know it I have options for the entire week, including dessert, entree, and vegi. The bad news is I have really finnicky eaters and leftovers are unheard of to my kids. Did I mention I have put on 20 lbs in my sobriety also?? Blessings Anne |

cooking is ok someone plan the meal. cleaning up isn't a big deal. Think inside the box what the portions should be. Did you have a big family you helped cook for growing up?
