Letting Go of The Past

I was doing some web wandering this morning and found some amazing inspirations. Sadly, no author that I could see or credit, but great stuff for the soul. Thought I'd bring some here to share. This one, I particularly needed to read, because too often I live in the past, wishing things with my son could have been different, blaming myself, and in doing all that I lose my today and my hope for tomorrow. Today I am making a conscious effort to let go of the ghosts that still haunt me. Enjoy...

Letting Go of The Past

Let go of guilt;
it's okay to make the same again.
Let go of obsessions;
they seldom turn out the way you planned.
Let go of hate;
it's a waste of love.
Let go of blaming other;
you are responsible for your own destiny.
Let go of fantasies;
so reality can come true.
Let go of self-pity;
someone else may need you.
Let go of wanting;
cherish what you have.
Let go of fear;
it's a waste of faith.
Let go of despair;
change comes from acceptance and forgiveness.
Let go of the past;
the future is here-right now.

thank you for the reminder, Ann, sometimes we forget how blessed we are and how good it is to be alive...

I think there is part of me that would like to turn back the hands of time and make the past different, and therefore today a better time. There is part of me that thinks if I had done things differently, that maybe my son would be okay today. In my mind I know that's not true, but my heart still hangs on to the fantasy that it might have been different.

I really need to be more diligent about living in today, letting the past go and letting my faith overcome my fear of the future. This poem just spoke to that part of me that has been listening for some answers.

I'm glad it helped you too, oncewaslost.

Hugs
Ann

That was truly inspirational! Thank you for sharing!

I too wish I could stop living in the past and be able to live a life WITHOUT *guilt*!

Thank you, that was great!
