Hi Terri,
Click on 'Private Messages'.....tick the little boxes of the messages you wish to delete....then go down to 'selected messages' and change the box to read 'delete'. When you have done that press 'go'. Your messages will then be deleted.

Make sure you look at both "Incoming" and "Sent" messages, I think I might be able to do it for you if your still having trouble after this.
