Springtime.

Spring Equinox, also known as Ostara, occurs in the middle of March. It marks the beginning of Spring and the time when days and nights are of equal length. The Goddess manifests as Ostara or Eostre with her basket of eggs. She is accompanied by the Hare or Rabbit, a manifestation of the God. Green has been sacred to this Sabbat since ancient times, because it represents the greening of the land with vegetation. This is a festival of new growth.

March 20, is the first day of Spring (the Vernal Equinox), and the Sun is directly above the Equator at a point just east of the African continent at 8:31 a.m. Therefore, the Sun's rays fall on both the Arctic and Antarctic regions at the same time. On this FY-2B visible satellite image taken from about 22,000 miles over the Equator, while the Himalayan Mountains are still snow covered, most of China and central Asia are snow free. The cloud masses in the central Indian Ocean are associated with the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). The Indian subcontinent, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Burma are mostly cloud free since it's now the dry season in this region - monsoon rains generally arrive in mid June.

Springtime to me is a time of new beginnings, a time of renewal of spirit and a time where the light equals the darkness for the first time in a while, with each day offering more light and less darkness.

Happy Spring!! :e03c

Is this the day an egg can be balanced on one end?

Could be JT.
I'd also check if the water drains out of the bathtub clockwise or counterclockwise.

Up here, for today anyway, there's a something in the air.
Soon, the robins will be back, singing their 4 AM song.
Every freakin' morning.

First day of autumn here and the tub swirls clockwise.....I think
From my bf visiting here from Florida it marks the beginning of hurricane season.
We are sitting here experimenting with stirring our coffee in different directions to see which one takes.
Thanks for this share.
Now, it is driving us crazy, the toilets are different here and don't swirl, I'll have to fill a sink.

Also, I have just been informed that the correct name for that "swirl" is maelstrom. No English oxford dictionary hear to verify that one. You just piqued my curiosity with this one!

In truth...

Does water go down the drain counterclockwise in the northern hemisphere and clockwise in the southern hemisphere?
It all depends upon how the water was introduced and the geometric structure of the drain.

Fascinating.

I think the swirly thing is based on what side of the equator you live on...

There was a toilet flushing thread a while back...it must have been a slow night. Which way does a toilet flush??

Now fluid dynamics of a toilet bowl are a totally separate thing.

well, toilets aren't a good test. But a round sink drained ought to be. And maelstrom does mean whirlpool, but I can't find the particular word for this phenomenon. Now I go to check you new site.

Thank you very much for that corrected information. I become obsessed with a NEED TO KNOW. Now, do you know what the correct name for the swirl/whirlpool is? or is is simply that whirlpool?

And now I work at the Pizza Pizza
Royalty, lord it looked good on me
Buried in silk in the royal boudoir or going nuclear free
Or playing Crokinole with the Princess of Monaco
Telling my jokes to the OPEC leaders, getting it all on video
Once I was the King of Spain (now I eat humble pie)
A palatial palace, that was my home (now I eat humble pie)
I'm telling you I was the King of Spain (now I eat humble pie)
And now I vacuum the turf at SkyDome (once he was the King of Spain)
I can't wait, I'm lowering interest rates, my people say:
"King, how are you such a genius?
There's a roof overhead and food on our plates!"
It's laisez-faire, I don't even give a care
Let's make Friday part of the weekend
And give every new baby a chocolate eclair

Hey Clinton! Hey Yeltsin! Got problems? You phone me (now I eat humble pie)
I'm telling you I was the King of Spain (now I eat humble pie)
Now the Leafs call me up to drive the Zamboni (once he was the King of Spain)
Now some of you are probably wondering how I cam to be living in Canada
after being royalty in Spain. Should I tell them, guys?
Tell us, King!
You see late one night when the palace was asleep
Out of my royal chambers and into the garden I creep
And I wait till the appointed time, when the moon is lighting the pitch
At which point my peasant friend, who looks just like me
Arrives and we make a switch
Prince and pauper, junior and whopper
World made up of silver and copper
Out of my own volition, I took a change of position
So next time you drool in the pizza line
Remember, slower pizza's more luscious
The King of Spain never rushes!!!
Once I was the King of Spain (now I eat humble)
I was looking for off-handed ways to improve us (now I eat humble pie)
I'm telling you I was the King of Spain (now I eat humble pie)
And now I'm jamming with Moxy Fruvous!
(once he was the King of Spain)

Discover Fruvous.
