Today's thought is: Be like the bird that, passing on her flight awhile on boughs too slight, feels them give way beneath her, and yet sings, knowing that she hath wings. --Victor Hugo Security. Upon what do we base our security? If we place the sensation of security upon some outside condition or upon a reality that can offer no security, then surely when the bough breaks we will fall to disaster. Recovering people for half a century have found a Power greater than themselves, a Power at hand that becomes their wings. Slowly, we learn that by turning over our lives to the care of God as we understand God, we are not alone, nor are we left to the strength of ourselves. There is enormous ability to enjoy life and a true sense of freedom when we learn to place our security in this all-loving God. Then as we encounter situations we cannot control, we will be able to trust that we will not be dashed to the ground. I am made bolder and braver by the knowledge that my Higher Power will not let me fall. You are reading from the book: Days of Healing, Days of Joy by Earnie Larsen & Carol Larsen Hegarty
