My friend gave me this awesome book today. It's called a Million Little Pieces and it's written by James Frey.

I am 100 pages in and this book is sooo good. It's his story of his addiction. I highly recommend this to everyone, whether you are an addict, alcoholic or the loved one of one.

I love reading, and I have been reading the basic text and the guides and meditaions, but I also love to read the true stories af alcholics/addicts. Is there any book that has really moved you, or inspired you?

Hi Rox!

I have a few :

1) 24 hours a day is a little book that I am just LOVING! It was quoted here a few times and it's a great start to the day.
2) My Mnid is out to Get Me (GOt it on amazon just type in name don't know author) is also more of a daily thing but incredibly moving and funny and inspiring, really insightful.
3) Book-wise - Healing the Addictive Mind by Lee Jampolsky (sp?) is really wonderful as is
4) Return to Love - Marianne Williamson

Both 3 and 4 draw from "A course in Miracles" which is pretty life changing stuff!

I love hearing about books people have enjoyed and I am now going to order the one you recommended as I was on amazon at the time!

A Gentle Path throught the Twelve Steps by Patrick Carnes.

Some readers have jokingly called it the "brutal path."

It just about saved my life, I think. It is more of a workbook. A very thorough workbook on doing the 12 Steps.
