My Serenity Level For Today Is -- Percentage -- Pt2

Keeping track of our Serenity Level %
seems to not only be interesting but, also very helpful.

My Serenity level on this afternoon is running at around 85%.

A nice sober evening wished for all,
M-Bob

Sorry to hear about your seasonal plans Ardy.

I reckon it's worth getting some other plans in place though. Just sitting at home alone watching old videos isn't going to be good for your serenity. Also, try not to let resentments or self-pity lead your thoughts or actions while you're still working on your acceptance of your families plans.

This Christmas day I'm helping at a Christmas lunch run for people who'd otherwise be alone at Christmas. Some of those people pay a contribution for their ticket and others don't, depending on their circumstances. My friend did it last year and said it was the best Christmas day she remembers having. Anyway - rather than having the choice of being indoors alone or going down the pub for hours with my partner, I've taken the volunteering option. (And must admit that my motives are purely selfish).

69%. For Christmas- a know I will not ber with my family. That is a memory now. This year- I do not know yet. I DO know I will not Idrink or place myself somewhere alcohol is lurking. I will avoid any trigger situation I can. I will go to as many meetings as I can. I will post here until my fingers bleed and talk with my sponsor. I will stay safe. Remember HALTS and pray. After all- at the end of the day, it is just that. Also- I am going to make sure I have silly (non family orientated Xmas movies) planned before hand to watch. I will make sure I have plenty of snacky foods- including some which are entirely not healthy that involve dark choc and suger and coffee. Also fizzies- v-e-r-y cold coke with ice in a real glass. Also write in my little journal.

98%. I was fortunate enough to bring a lonely and skittish friend of mine into my home with my community group from church--and we really rolled out the red carpet and made her feel welcome. She is a 60-y-o single career woman who has never felt comfortable in typical "ladies' groups;" also, she often feels like a third wheel at Christian gatherings because she's single, and couples don't know what to do with her--so they ignore her.

But I introduced her all around to both men and women, and she ended up finding plenty to talk about and having a wonderful time.

She hasn't been to church in 5 yrs! I hope last night's experience encourages her to come back!

Getting some winter weather here, snow and cold and windy, but made myself walk the dogs three times for the exercise and fresh air. Serenity level at 99%. (the missing one percent is cause I hate cold weather)
