Sharing experience, strength and hope ...
As recovery, from anything centers in the mind, it's then obvious that it is an individual responsibility, no one can do it for you!
Although others may assist you by way of sharing their experience, strength and hope, but as it says in the book 'Alcoholics Anonymous', 'you can't transmit something you haven't got',
Which, to me, is a sound warning to, in recovery, steer clear of those with all the answers but who know none of the questions!
That said, I like this from Socrates, seen by many as 'The Father of Philosophy,'
'True knowledge exists in knowing that you know nothing.
I cannot teach anybody anything, I can only make them think.
I know I'm intelligent because I know I know nothing.'

That reminds me of a song (of course)
Masquerading as a man with a reason
My charade is the event of the season
And if I claim to be a wise man,
Well, it surely means that I don't know
great post Red. I agree.
