Hi Mike, Have you tried spending some time with some clean and sober addicts? Everytime I get stupid thoughts of using or drinking, and none of my self defense tools seem to work, I make a phonecall. Just talking about it to another addict helps me get the focus off of my obsessive thoughts. For me, it works everytime. Glad you joined us Mike Last edited by Dan; 09-02-2004 at 06:03 AM. |

NA and the support of others who know where you are at because they have been there could be one of the best things for you. Work through the steps one moment at a time if need be. Take things a day at a time. You can get through a day. Meetings, outreach, talking things out with others... find things to keep your hands busy and your mind off the temptation. Congratulations on the clean time. Keep up the good work.

Pray to whatever you believe in for the thoughts to be lifted. Worked for me.
